Mentor Me Treat

Some UMOHs leave a lasting mark—and our time with Mentor Me was exactly that. Over October and November, we visited 22 Mentor Me clubs, surprising students and staff with 600 pops and countless shared smiles. These visits were more than just sweet treats—they were conversations, connections, and invitations to reflect on what joy looks like in our everyday lives.

At each club, we shared our mission of creating Unexpected Moments of Happiness, and the students responded in kind. They told stories of kindness they had offered or planned ways to bring joy to their own communities. One story stood out deeply: a student who lit up while talking about how much his mom loved strawberry lemonade pops. We later learned his mom had passed away over the summer. That pop became a small, powerful link to her memory—a reminder that joy and grief often live side by side.

This UMOH was a labor of love, and it gave just as much as it received. We’re so grateful to the Mentor Me team and the students for welcoming us in—and inspired to keep showing up for moments like these.
